Ashlyn’s Therapuetic Approach
I take an integrative approach to therapy, tailoring our work together to your unique needs and what you’re currently navigating. I utilize evidence-based modalities including EMDR, TF-CBT, HeartMath, and Prepare/Enrich (premarital) to best support you. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to support and guide you through overwhelming or difficult moments so you can experience healing and continue moving forward.

Educational Background
In addition to my formal education, I am trained in EMDR and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to support those experiencing trauma and PTSD; HeartMath for athlete performance and stress resilience; CBT for bipolar disorder; Inference-Based CBT for obsessive-compulsive disorder; and Prepare/Enrich for premarital counseling. I also hold a Sport Social Work Certification through the Alliance of Social Workers in Sports (ASWIS), which further supports my work with athletes and performance-related mental health.
Sports Background
- Softball for 10 years
- Volleyball for 4 years
- Lacrosse for 2 years
- Cross Country for 2 years
- Participated in two full marathons (26.2 miles) and one half-marathon (13.1 miles)
- Participated in collegiate sprint-triathlon club
- Personal experience with a sudden transition in sports identity, purpose, and daily structure after choosing academic goals at a D1 university over collegiate athletic experience at the NAIA level
- Personal experience with a knee injury that threatened double knee replacement surgery
- Sport Social Work Certified
- Works with athletes across a variety of sports including lacrosse, golf, soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, gymnastics, tumbling, running, competitive cheerleading, and more
Outside of the Office
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy staying active and connected to sports, as well as spending time with family and maintaining a balanced lifestyle. My own experiences as an athlete and in recovery continue to shape my passion for helping others build confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of self both on and off the field.
