FAQ
Do you take insurance and what are your rates?
We do not accept in-network insurance for therapy, but we can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. Our decision to not work with insurance is based on a desire to offer high-quality, flexible care without restrictions, ensuring therapy decisions are made between you and your therapist.
Session rates range from $145 to $175, depending on the therapist and session length. Sliding scale options may be available, and your therapist will discuss specific rates during the initial consultation. We also offer low cost services through our intern program $55-$75 a session.
Please check your copay, coinsurance, and out-of-network benefits and deductibles.
- Out-of-network (OON) coverage, typically on PPO plans, means you can receive some amount of reimbursement if you choose an OON provider. So, the insurance company may pay a percentage of costs while you’re responsible for the remaining portion.
- The portion you’re responsible for is called coinsurance which can range anywhere from 0-50% depending on your plan. In other words, the insurance company may pay up to 50-100% of the fee. – Ask what %, if any, they reimburse for counseling and if the % is of the therapist’s full rate or what they decide is reasonable and customary based on zip code 30188. A specific code you can inquire about is 90837 and/ or 90834. Also make sure to ask if you have to meet deductibles first before benefits kick in.
- There are online calculators, such as Nirvana, that can find your mental health OON benefits just from your member ID.
We can provide Superbills at no cost ( monthly statements) . You would submit them to your insurance company to meet your OON deductible and obtain any available counseling or therapy fee reimbursement up to 100% based on your plan. Companies such as Mentaya can submit superbills for you for a small fee.
You also can use HSA or FSA funds to pay for sessions which allow tax advantages and could cover session costs.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes. It is essential that the counselor/coach and client are a “good fit.” I am happy to offer a 10 minute free consultation to ensure we both feel confident about being a good fit before you book an intake with me
What is your Cancellation Policy?
I ask for 24 hours notice of cancellation. I charge full price for no show or cancellation that occurs less than 24 hours in advance.
How much do counseling sessions cost?
Sessions vary depending on therapist and length of sessions but range between $145-$175 per 50min sessions. Sliding Scale options might be available. We also offer intern counseling services for low cost $55-$75 a session.
Bi-weekly sessions are an option to make sessions more cost-effective. A set number of sliding scale (reduced cost) spots are also available. This may be an option if the other routes have already been explored. I deeply believe that the opportunity to pursue healing via counseling should be accessible. That said, those who can pay full session fees help make it possible for me to offer a sliding scale option to those who might not be able to access services otherwise.
